I looked up their coupon policy, but I find it very confusing. Can you help me decipher? http://www.harristeeter.com/promotions/online_coupons/coupon_policy.aspxLindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07254350353697574471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4516798326409082111.post-63839251876434258942010-04-15T13:28:40.837-07:002010-04-15T13:28:40.837-07:00Lindsey -Man do I love Harris Teeter! Jealous!

First of all, here's a link to the weekly Harris Teeter deals:
http://moneysavingmom.com/store_deals/category/harris-teeter

This policy is FULL of things to be confused about. Im going to hit on the things I think are confusing and if I missed something, let me know and I'll see what I can explain. For the record, I tried to find a link to someone else explaining these so I didnt have to do it, but no such luck.

Under the "General..." they say they only accept one coupon for buy one get one free items. This just means that they won't accept the sneaking coupon trick I try to do sometimes which is use one buy one get one (or "BOGO") coupon for an item and then use another on the one I paid for. Example: I have a BOGO coupon for salsa and a coupon for $1 off the same product. Some stores will let me use both, making one of them free and the other $1 off. HT won't. Also, it looks like they wont accept a coupon for more than a product is ringing up. For example, if salsa is on sale for $.99 and you have a $1 coupon, too bad for you.

"Doubling" ... HT holds "super double" days where they will double the value of your coupon. So, if you have a $.50 salsa coupon, they will make it worth $1. It looks like they only allow you to double 20 coupons each day of the event, and dont allow you to use coupons over $.98 (so those $1 coupons are out for doubling. Bummer). They also sometimes do TRIPLE coupon events, and the same rules appear to apply. For the record, lots of stores double coupons, but Ive never heard of any doing an "event." Albertsons, for example, includes three double coupon coupons in some Sunday papers allowing you to double up to three different coupons.

"Internet coupons" -- it sounds like they'll take them. Their exclusions are against using more than 2 of the same coupon for the same or same-ish product (coupons.com, for example, lets you print two of the same coupon but other sites will let you print more) and they won't take any "free product" coupons from online. I rarely see those, so you probably won't be out anything by not being able to use them. The noteable exception is facebook. Manufacturers have recently been posting coupons to facebook as a reward of becoming a fan of their page. Egglands Best posted a free carton of eggs coupon this way. HT would not have accepted it.Amyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01245886241422414151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4516798326409082111.post-51413312710572904862010-04-15T14:04:48.139-07:002010-04-15T14:04:48.139-07:00Thanks, Amy! I've used coupons here and there in the past, but never in a strategic way. I'm excited to see how it goes!Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07254350353697574471noreply@blogger.com
